 The speed of innovation and its impact on the AEC industry.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution:

  • The disruption introduced by the reality of robotics
  • The Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • And immersive and augmented reality

They represent a wakeup call for closer alignment with the principles of the manufacturing industry, and this twenty first century industrial transformation needs to be realized through the adoption of proven processes such as Concurrent Engineering, Product Lifecycle Management and Resources Optimization.

Tomislav’s presentation focuses on Clayco’s vertical integration and highly consolidated project procurement cycle, aided by the targeted use of technology solutions as an attempt to accelerate the reboot of the AEC industry.

About Tomislav Žigo

Over the past 19 years Tomislav has been an advocate of digital technology implementation as a researcher, designer and over the past six years as a designer – builder. His experience includes work in the vanguard of BIM methodology implementation on large healthcare, institutional and industrial projects, research work in the field of Building Performance Analysis; optimization and use of mobile and immersive technology and mentorship positions in a number of local and national architectural firms during their transition toward BIM adoption.


Currently he leads Clayco’s Virtual Design and Construction department and teaches at Washington University in St. Louis.
