BCS: Synapse Session Preview: The Content Chasm- Jason Bailly, HDR

In the last two weeks, you have have seen the Program for the Building Content Summit, making its way in to the blog. Now that the program is finalized, we want to spotlight some of the sessions that will be occurring, to give you an idea of what you can expect. One such class: The Content Chasm, by Jason Bailly of HDR.  Jason is a Digital Design Principal at HDR, where BIM Content must be maintained across multiple disciplines, business classes, and offices.

In his session, Jason will discuss what he calls “The Content Chasm,” which he describes as the theme in which the integration of technology is useless without an understanding of the sub-cultural nature of the way we work.

The chasm is what exists between manufacturer provided content and lean model delivery.
The chasm is what exists between a client’s expectations and what is actually contracted.
The chasm is what exists between the Revit Model and the BIM Content Source.

Join us at the Building Content Summit, and hear Jason’s full explanation on the Content Chasm, and what he thinks needs to happen to close that chasm, successfully. (One of his bullet points includes “not being evil…” which I am intrigued to hear more about!
