Death of a Leader
Its not everyday you get to be in a country on the day of it’s founder’s death. That’s the situation I find myself in today. Its a sensation of palpable weirdness.
Singapore is a different kind of country. It’s orderliness and efficiency is accentuated by the stark contrast of it’s regional neighbors. Much of it is attributed to the vision of Mr. Lee. One of my local staff said to me this morning that the man’s legacy is that nobody here gets to be ‘dumb’. I agree. This is a great place to be. Though saddened by the news, I’m happy to be here and look forward to welcoming many to SIngapore for RTC in September.
