Don’t Rush Off!

#RTC_Asia is 3 weeks away – you’d better register soon! But before you book flights we’d recommend coming out a few days before the conference to 1) get over the jet lag and 2) develop an appreciation for one of the most beautiful modern cities in the world.

First of all you’ll be arriving at one of the best airports in the world. Changi airport has been ranked #1 for multiple years and when you arrive you’ll understand why. Skip the taxi queue and opt for the train:

A lot of people believe Singapore is a dense, urban city of 5 million, which is true if you’re in the central business district. But Singapore is also doing a great job of protecting its natural resources as evidenced by the numerous nature parks and reserves:

What’s more? The Singapore Zoo is one of the top 10 in the world. It’ll take the better part of a day to casually walk through it all. Then you’ll want to leave time (and book ahead) for the night safari:

And these are just a few suggestions!

After a few days you’ll be refreshed and ready for three intense days of learning and collaborating with your peers from all over the world. Then return to your home challenged by what’s been done in the last 50 or so years in this small, incredibly industrious island nation.

And don’t be surprised if the next time you hear someone say how your city is “…the best city in the world!” you’ll have to fight the urge to wince…more than just a bit.

Because you’ve been to Singapore.
