DTS 2016 (Belated) Wrap-Up

Oops! What happened? Can you believe it’s already been four weeks since we had DTS in Scottsdale Arizona; we’ll blame an actual vacation a week after RTC Events North America!

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who attended as well as our sponsors; BIMsmith, Panzura and dRofus. For those of you who didn’t make it to DTS this year you missed a great discussion event! We had lots of positive feedback from our attendees and I believe we truly achieved our goal of high level strategic conversations. While we aren’t afraid to mention software product names and manufactures, the big R did not dominate the conversations like it has in past years. Our conversations focused much more on the overall challenges of implementing design technologies. I think, if I could sum up the number one issue it would be “middle management” all of us continue to face challenges with helping our management teams and managers understand how to properly deal with staff and manages projects while attempting to apply new technology which fundamentally can shift how we practice.

Currently the committee is working on a Summary of Proceedings document and the notes from this year have been posted for attendees. Our next focus will be our prospectus development for 2017 and shifting into planning. Based on the feedback we did have we do not anticipate significant changes to the agenda as we feel we’ve reached a good balance of discussion, not too much and not too little.
