RTC USA 2012 – Competition Update

As an attendee of RTC this year you should expect an email with this information. If you are coming to Georgia and haven’t seriously considered submitting something for the competition categories, think again…nice prices are waiting for you if you win or come very close as the runner up!

Details of the Email:

Just a quick reminder that RTC 2012 North America is running a competition for all registered attendees. Get your submissions in as we have fantastic prizes on offer!

Available categories:

Integration:
This prize will go to the entry that best demonstrates the use of all three streams of Revit (Structure, MEP and Architecture) within a single project. It is fine to see material in the entry from other products, but it must demonstrate the use of all three Revits to qualify for the prize.

Winner Prize: Private 5 node BIM Cloud for 6 months, proudly sponsored by BIM9
Runner Up Prize: iPad & SpaceMouse Pro, proudly sponsored by RTC Events Management & 3Dconnexion

Innovation:
This prize showcases the efforts of you or your organization to push the boundaries of what is possible using today’s tools. We are interested in projects and processes that stretch the use of the tools in new directions, and explore new ways to achieve desired results. Entries can include work integrating other software, but only where those program results are then brought into Revit to achieve the end product.

Winner Prize: Great Prize TBA
Runner Up Prize: iPad & SpacePilot Pro, proudly sponsored by RTC Events Management & 3Dconnexion

Presentation:
In the presentation section we are looking for examples of work demonstrating the best of presentation techniques incorporating Revit. Note that this does NOT necessarily mean rendering! Layout, proportions, and most importantly, the successful conveying of your message are all vital to a quality presentation. Work can be a single image or a page layout; rendered, shaded, or other format images; or anything else that centers around presenting your work to others.

Winner Prize: BOXX 3970 Extreme, proudly sponsored by BOXX Technologies
Runner Up Prize: iPad & SpaceNavigator, proudly sponsored by BIM9 & 3Dconnexion

Documentation:
This section is intended to showcase 2D documentation / annotation work carried out within Revit. We have had especially strong entries in this category in previous years; show us the next generation of Revit documentation to take this one out.

Winner Prize: Registration & 4 nights accommodation to an RTC 2013 event of your choice (travel at your own expense), proudly sponsored by RTC Events Management
Runner Up Prize: iPad & SpaceExplorer, proudly sponsored by RTC Events Management & 3DConnexion

The competition will be judged by your fellow attendees and awarded on the basis of the ‘best’ Revit work. It is NOT necessary for all work to be carried out in Revit, but every entry must be based on Revit work at its core, and must clearly reflect this. The RTC Committee reserves the right to disqualify any entries which do not reflect a strong Revit basis, or which do not comply with other stated rules of the competition.

NOTE: In order to enter the competition, you must be a registered attendee of the Conference.

Please provide your entry as a maximum of 2 sheets 11″x17″ (tabloid), preferably portrait orientation, with any information that identifies you or your company either blanked out or removed (we will not accept entries with identifying information on them). We recommend that you also provide a typed sheet with a list of the software you have used to create your entry. Each section description should be no more than 100 words. This description will be pinned up along with your work for attendees to review and consider.

Your entry will be given a number, and this will be used on the judging forms distributed to all the attendees for voting. Electronic versions (jpeg format) of your entries must be submitted by Wednesday 27 June, so we can include it in a running slideshow. The 2 sheets of 11″x17″ of your entry must be received by afternoon tea on Thursday 28 June, Day One of the Conference. Please do not vote for your own work, or work from your company!

Please upload your jpeg files to the following FTP site by Wednesday 27 June and also bring a hard copy (maximum of 2 sheets 11″x17″, preferably portrait orientation) to the Conference. (uploading details provided in the email)

To be eligible to win the prize RTC Events Management must have a electronic version of your competition entry. If you are voted as a winner and we have not received an electronic copy, you will be disqualified.
