Session Spotlight: Late Additions

Great news! We have added four additional classes to the BILT Europe schedule – and despite being late additions, they were simply too good to not be included.

Session 1.4 – The OpenBIM Lifecycle: Achievements From the Real World by Thomas Graabæk, BIMequity

OpenBIM is a source for better collaboration between disciplines across software platforms. The key is open file formats, such as IFC, which allows AEC professionals to use a variety of BIM tools. The result is sharing of knowledge, structured information and documentation of decisions from initial sketch to operation and maintenance.

Session 2.1 LAB: The Future of Now: 4D Visualisation with Mixed Reality (Hololens Edition)  by Greg Demchak, Synchro

When Greg Demchak approached us and asked if he could bring 20 HoloLenses to do a lab version of his class we simply could not say no. Join this lab to learn how to generate 4D visualisations of construction operations and for use with mixed reality devices.

Session 2.3 – The Singapore BIM Mandate: Context & Consequences by Phil Lazarus, Aurecon

Singapore has taken bold steps to advance productivity in the built environment by driving industry adoption of 3D technology. In this session, Phil Lazarus (a Digital Specialist working in Singapore since 2006), will place the country’s “BIM Mandate” in context while discussing its impact from a practitioner’s perspective.

Session 2.4 Yes we can! by Martijn de Riet and Mark Wieringa, BIMforce

In 1994 buildingSMART promised “The End of Babel” in a very well-known documentary explaining how IFC would solve interoperability problems. Almost 25 years later, the time has come to finally fulfil that promise. This class will demonstrate you can have an IFC based workflow in your modeling tools without limitations.
