RTCAUS Speaker Profile with Alex Leese

Alex Leese

Alex Leese – Cox Rayner

How many times you’ve attended an RTC conference (Australia and/or elsewhere):

“Never been (but have been registered before – birth of second child won out marginally!)”

What you do (not just your title…what you really do!):

Associate at Cox Rayner. Generally take project architect role from brief development or SD through to completion on site. Enjoy the daily challenges of projects and trying to find smart solutions to the many challenges complex projects present.”

What is interesting about what you do (what motivates you at both work and play):

“Interested in developing new ideas and systems that can help express ideas better, explore less obvious design solutions and as a consequence make better buildings. And if I can trade a bit of this for a few more killer snapper locations in Moreton Bay even better!”

Where you think design technology is headed in the next 3-5 years (or a more appropriate technology issue of interest to you):

“Hopefully technology will start to bring sectors of the construction industry closer together and allow more people to visualise design issues and assist in solving them at an early stage.”

Why you attend RTC (what’s the business and personal motivation):

“Learning, giving a bit back to the industry and hopefully finding like-minded professionals / clients that I would like to work with in the future.”
