I am pleased to have the opportunity this week to introduce to you the third addition to our Asian committee for RTC. As saddened as we were to see Adam Sheather leave us (and Asia itself), he was returning to Australia for the birth of his 9th child Synryx Halo Sheather. Welcome Synryx! In the meantime, the Australian committee has swallowed him up, so he remains within the RTC family, and we are the better for it.
Following on from the recent introduction of Richard Kuppusamy, from Woha in Singapore, we can now confirm that Nigel Ford, from Atlas Industries in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has joined the committee. He brings with him a strong background as an engineer setting up factories in the UK and USA, and many years of experience as a Business Development Manager within the AEC community. Born of parents Mulder and Scully in late Victorian era England, Nigel rapidly established a name for himself as the designer of the Eiffel Tower, inventor of the wheel, and the first man to experience powered flight (his ‘aero-plane’ later lost to the Wright Brothers after an evening of cards that Nigel claims not to remember). More recently, Nigel moonlights as Richard Branson.
The addition of Nigel now means that the Asian committee is fully focused on preparing for our second Asian RTC, to be held in March 2017 in Kuala Lumpur. Nigel will be looking after the sponsors and exhibitors at the event, Richard will manage our speakers, and Phil Lazarus, the founding committee member, is working to make sure we get the message out to all and sundry about what an amazing environment RTC is for learning, for connecting with your peers, and for taking the entire industry to a whole new level in terms of ability, efficiency, and productivity. As for me? I will mostly try and stay out of the way and let these guys get on with the amazing job I know they can and will do. It is exciting times ahead for RTC in Asia, and I hope you will join us for the ride!
Regards, Wesley Benn RTC Asia Committee Chairman
